Zephyr Folk Festival Returns to Liberty Lake for a Weekend of Music, Community, and Summer Camp Nostalgia

After a successful debut that quickly became one of our most memorable music gatherings in the Spokane area, Zephyr Folk Festival is returning to Liberty Lake on June 5–6 with an expanded lineup that blends regional favorites, rising singer-songwriters, and nationally recognized folk artists.

Last year, Zephyr Folk Festival was a hidden gem tucked away in the pines. Set against the backdrop of Zephyr Lodge and stunning views of Liberty Lake, the inaugural festival combined intimate performances, open dance floors, great food, local vendors, and the kind of community atmosphere that makes you forget about your phone for a weekend. Kids did cartwheels in the grass, friends gathered in lawn chairs, and strangers became dance partners as the sun dipped behind the trees.

If the first year proved the concept, the 2026 lineup suggests Zephyr Folk Festival is building something that could become a staple of the Inland Northwest festival calendar for many years to come.

A Lineup Built for Discovery

Leading this year's festival are acclaimed Americana songwriter Dean Johnson and indie-folk favorites Babes in Canyon.

Johnson has built a reputation for deeply personal songwriting and captivating live performances, making him a natural fit for Zephyr Lodge's intimate setting. Babes in Canyon bring lush harmonies and artistic folk arrangements that should provide one of the weekend's most anticipated sets.

Returning PNW favorite, Amelia Day, is also back after delivering one of the standout performances of last year's festival. Her ability to blend vulnerability and power on stage made an impression during Zephyr's inaugural weekend, and we know the crowd will be thrilled to hear and see her back on the stage.

Joining them are Smokey Brights, the Seattle-based indie folk-rock outfit known for energetic live shows, and singer-songwriter Zan Fiskum, whose soulful vocals and storytelling have earned her fans throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Pacific Northwest Representation

One of the most exciting aspects of Zephyr Folk Festival's lineup continues to be its commitment to regional artists.

This year's bill features a strong mix of Spokane and Northwest talent, including:

  • John Wayne Williams

  • Camp Bedford

  • Sam Plecker

  • Jacob Rountree

  • Erin Parkes

  • Landon Spencer

  • Wes Marvin

Many of these artists have spent years building audiences throughout Washington, Idaho, and Montana, making the festival an opportunity not only to catch established acts but also discover your next favorite musician before they outgrow local stages.

For Spokane music fans especially, the festival continues to serve as a showcase of the region's thriving independent music scene.

More Than Just a Music Festival

What separates Zephyr from many larger festivals last year was the atmosphere. It felt like we were on a weekend getaway, when really we were no more than 30 minutes outside Downtown Spokane.

There was a sense that everyone was there for the same reason: to slow down, enjoy great music, and spend a weekend outdoors with good people.

The Zephyr Lodge setting creates a unique experience that feels equal parts music festival and summer camp reunion. Whether you're dancing in front of the stage, relaxing under the trees, exploring vendor booths, or simply taking in the scenery, the festival offers space to enjoy the weekend at your own pace.

Last year's attendees were treated to local vendors, quality food options, interactive experiences, and countless moments that couldn't have been scripted.

This year's event will continue to build on that foundation while maintaining the intimate, community-focused atmosphere that made the inaugural festival special.

The Heart of it All

The Inland Northwest has no shortage of live music events, but few festivals feel quite like Zephyr.

While larger events often focus on scale, the festival's strength lies in its sense of place. It feels distinctly Pacific Northwest. Equal parts folk music gathering, campground hangout, and community togetherness.

With such a strong lineup two years in a row, growing reputation, and the momentum generated by a successful first year, Zephyr Folk Festival appears poised to take another significant step forward in 2026.

Zephyr Folk Festival takes place June 5–6 at Zephyr Lodge in Liberty Lake, Washington. Whether you're a dedicated folk fan or simply looking for the perfect way to kick off summer in the Inland Northwest, this is one weekend worth circling on the calendar.
